14th Prefects Installation Ceremony || Preston International School
The Inauguration of the incoming 14th set of Prefects kicked off with the walk of honour of both incoming and outgoing prefects, after which they took their respective places on stage.
The opening prayer was anchored by the guest minister – Apostle Adeyanju, after which the National Anthem as well as the School Anthem were rendered.
The choir’s sonorous rendition of "Praise the Lord" was then delivered by the school choir which kindled an atmosphere of gratitude, which was further intensified with a trio performance of "Make Me An Instrument" by Terna Suur, Adereleye Ife, and Prosper Emmanuella.
The occasion was graced with the presence of the Proprietress – Mrs Funmi Ajayi and some of our esteemed parents who helped in the decoration of the incoming prefects as well as the powerful exaltation by Apostle Adeyanju, where he highlighted the core importance of Jesus and the Christ-like humility in their new endeavour. He encouraged them to be fulfilled, having been called and chosen.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of staff of Office and artefacts to the Presidency – The Bible from Eke Kamsiliochukwu (Outgoing Female Vice President) to Sanni Olorunbukunmi (Incoming Female Vice President); this symbolizes the Word of God as an anchor to the Presidency, the body of prefects, and the entire students’ body of Preston International School. The Preston Flag from Loto Samuel (Outgoing Male Vice President) to Aniekan Victor (Incoming Male Vice President); this symbolizes that all school policies are upheld. The Staff of Office from Okoli Chinaza (Outgoing President) to Fanougbo Dieudonne (Incoming President); this symbolizes the Authority of the Office of the President.
The Presidential speech delivered by Fanougbo Dieudonne reiterated his commitment and dedication to uphold the laid down policies set by the school. He further assured the school management and the parents that their children are in capable hands.
Afterwards, Yesufu Caleb, our dexterous violinist, dazzled the audience with Lewis Capaldi’s composition of "Someone You Loved". It was an intense performance that we wished never ended.
The closing prayer said by Mrs Adereleye brought the event to a close after which the processional hymn, "Onward Christian Soldiers" was rendered.
